Kraken Exchange Setup

Step 1 — Connect Your Exchange (Kraken)

OC9 connects securely to your exchange using restricted API permissions.

Important Security Notes

• OC9 does NOT hold your funds
• OC9 does NOT move your money
• OC9 only sends approved trade commands
• Your funds remain fully on Kraken
• NEVER enable withdrawal permissions

Step 1a — Prepare Your Account

• Create or log into Kraken
• Enable 2-Factor Authentication (2FA)
• Use Google Authenticator if possible
• Never share login credentials

Step 1b — Open Settings

Open the top-right profile icon and select Settings.

Step 1c — Connections & API

Inside Settings, open Connections & API.

Step 1d — Create API Key

Enable ONLY:

• Query funds
• Query open orders & trades
• Query closed orders & trades
• Create & modify orders
• Cancel & close orders

NEVER enable withdrawals.

Step 2 — Save Your API Keys

Kraken will display your API Key and Secret ONE TIME ONLY. Save both securely before closing the page.

• Copy both values
• Use a password manager if possible
• Never share them publicly

If you lose the Secret, you must generate a new API key.

Step 3 — Fund Your Kraken Account

• Deposit USD or your local currency
• Or transfer cryptocurrency directly
• Ensure sufficient balance for OC9 operation

If your account is not funded:

• Trades will fail
• Bots will remain inactive
• No positions can open

Step 4 — Connect to OC9

Inside OC9:

Settings → Exchange Configuration

• Paste API Key
• Paste API Secret
• Save configuration

Trading remains disabled until OC9 completes verification and safety checks.
